No-one cares what you think but yourself.

Well, it's been ages. To be honest I got a bit disinterested writing about myself... I get enough of myself already. That doesn't say much about the people who read this.

So my first ever 7" record 'Stones I've Thrown' is well and truly 'out'. 'Out' in the way that it in the general 'space' that is the 'world', givin you the chance to 'pick' it up and 'carry' it home to listen to on your record player while drinking a freshly opened steaming bottle of beer.

I 'released' it by playing an in-store at Banquet Records in Kingston-Upon-Thames. I have come to accept doing that is probably the coolest thing I'll do with this little hobby of mine.

I say 'hobby' because I had a recent moment of clarity (very rare...) that playing shows n recording is on the same level as playing Night Football on a Sunday night when I'm back in Berkhamsted. Or the time when Harry, Tom and I decided to test the strength of our mentalities by locking ourselves in Haz's dad's bathroom for 24hrs with nothing but 2 magazines, a load of crisps and a radio.

Those are both things that were always a laugh but always taken with a sense of seriousness. Night Football is always competitive and taken with a sense of pride and neither of us chickened out the 24hr survival test.

[We even used to hold hat-parties (where you had to wear a 'loud' hat) where you would get shit if you weren't wearing a hat.]

I think taking things with a dose of pride makes it more fun. Then again, there's always the risk of going too far with that.

But who cares, eh?

Regards,

Jules Buddha.

"Good. GOOD. MORE FOR ME AND YOU!"

Earlier today I went shopping for the first time in a few months, and it was awesome! H&M has this really nice smell to it.

Right now I'm eating pizza and watching this video:

Awesome, huh!

That punknews.org stream went up yesterday -http://www.punknews.org/article/38519

Distorted online magazine did a little news story on the 7" too - http://www.distortedmagazine.com/news/cynics-releases-free-download-of-ep-“stones-ive-thrown”-and-announces-uk-tours

I'll be doing a Banquet instore later this month. I'm excited about that, I <3 Banquet.

Stones I've Thrown

Some awesome stuff has happened recently.

My 7" record 'Stones I've Thrown' is coming together. Test presses should hopefully arrive in the next week or so and I think it'll be pretty surreal listening back to them on my record player. No-one has ever wanted to put money towards any of the bands I've been in, so I'm excited as hell/nervous something will inevitably go wrong.

So much stuff could go tits up - tracklisting, tracks themselves, extra pressing charges... I've got everything crossed that it will be okay. But I'm not letting it take over my life; I'm 'just a band'. Homemade popcorn is far more important.

Paint It Black heard my cover of their song 'Memorial Day' and retweeted about it and sent out a link to the pre-order of it. That was cool beyond words. Dave House sent me an e-mail saying 'Andy PIB wants you to put it online so people can listen' one morning before I got in the shower so I celebrated my singing numerous Elton John numbers once I got in the bathroom.

Punknews.org are putting up a stream of the record in the next few days, which is insane. Bondy from Apologies, I Have None told me I'm getting too big and when I started playing shows I just wanted to play songs to nobody and get fucked up. I think I corrected him by telling him that's what I still do.

Big Cheese also reviewed the record in the latest issue. I haven't checked it out yet, but I was talking to Rey when we were shopping in Morrissons earlier that I don't care if I get a sub-par review, it will just be cool to see my name in print.

Suffice to say I'm feeling great about it all. I hope the party doesn't end too soon, I'll use up all my effort before it does.

I can't stop listening to the new Grown Ups album. I played an awesome basement show in Derby with them and it was an aw'right laugh. They're a lot of fun.

Fuck MC Lars

My house is pretty fucked. In the good kind of way. The kitchen floor was black yesterday morning when we woke up and this morning cans of K and strongbow black litter the worktops. My surroundings make me a little less guilty that I'm drinking beer for breakfast (Minty's still in the spare room asleep, that guy needs to find somewhere to live more than a night a week).

I'm playing at K Fest later today and I'm pretty excited, but not half as excited as I am about seeing THIRD EYE BLIND LATER TONIGHT.

Fuck yeah. I've only met a few people who share my love for Third Eye Blind, which makes them the kind of band that when I put them on the stereo at a party comes the inevitable "ah Gibbo, what the fuck is this shit?". Kind of like American Hearts by Piebald.

We can all thank MC Lars for that.

Dan and Josh's house

From now on I'm only going to update this blog when at other people's houses. Thus they will be quite short.

This is he only good photo on Dave Calvinball's computer at Josh and Dan Apologies' house. I didn't look very hard.

James Hull gives his regards.

Brain? BRAIN?!

Against Me!’s new album White Crosses leaked three months before it came out.

I think it’s fucking rad.

Kieran’s put me on the Arteries/Bangers show in Manchester this Sunday. Thanks KK. Jugs said I’m playing the all-dayer in Harrow on Saturday. Big love, Jugs. Rob asked if I could play with Franz Nicolay in Derby next Wednesday. Nice one Rob.

Ian Chaddock and myself went for burritos yesterday then went to see Shutter Island at the cinema. It freaked me the fuck out.

I’ll be in Sheffield for the next week or so. Here are some photos.

Drink beer and skate

In the last two days I’ve been skating twice, both times going down to Stockwell park.

Times are good. Keep moving forward.

Search for self.

I’ve learnt a lot since last writing my last blog post.

Yesterday I quit a job at a small teen magazine I started working at last month. I’ve been doing freelance stuff for them for a while (and will continue to do so), but going to the offices in Ramsgate, Kent every day with a two hour journey each way weighs on your productive mind. It wasn’t working out, so I’m back here trying to get internships and freelance commissions.

‘Back here’ has changed as well. After Brighton and spending Christmas sleeping on peoples’ sofas and spending the day at my mum’s new house with my step-dad near Exeter, I moved to my dad’s house in Islington. It was supposed to be a stepping-stone until me and my brother (already living there) found a new place. I ended up spending just over a month there and it sucked. I don’t know his wife and have no interested in doing so, inevitably making the house a bomb about to explode. It’s funny how the small but constant shit makes a home on your back…

My friend Angela needed two housemates for her place in Elephant and Castle so here I am! Sitting on the kitchen sofa listening to The Arteries. Alright!

I went on tour for the second time a couple of weeks ago with Sam Russo and it was by the far the most successful tour I’ve been on. People came to the shows, people sung and people partied. We got petrol money and even money each to get back our respective southern England homes from Sheffield. That’s definitely a first.

I’ve also recorded a first ep, but more on that later.

When I was at my mum’s this weekend gone I finished reading Goodbye New Brunswick New Jersey. It’s a guy’s personal account of his time spent living in the epicentre of the New Brunswick basement scene throughout the 90s and it’s fucking awesome. I heavily recommend it.

The time between Christmas and the first working day of 2010

Along with trying to work out what happened in the time between Christmas and the first working day of 2010, here is what is at the front end of my head right now -

Me and my brother need to find a flat. Going back to living with your dad who's re-married to someone you don't really know sucks.

Booking a tour with Sam Russo and being joined by both Tim Vantol and James Hull at different points. We need dates on the 16th (around Reading) and the 18th (around Manc).

All my friends are getting fucked up every night, waking up at midday and having loads of fun. Maybe University could have been a smart idea.

I am over self-analyzing and getting paranoid about what the fuck I'm going to do with my life. Thanks the time between Christmas and the first working day of 2010.

The clock in the top right hand corner of this screen says I have 2 minutes battery life left. Here are some photos.
